  William Higginson విలియం హిగ్గిన్సన్ — The Exit Door   (for English version press here) నలుపు , తెలుపు గడులతో కూడిన గది గోడల మీదుగా నేల వరకూ విస్తరించి ఉంది.

6-W1—The Exit Door (2026)

Image
by William Higginson — The Exit Door A room covered in black-and-white squares extends seamlessly across the walls and the floor. A red door in the wall stands open, revealing a world beyond with a blue sky and a green field. A man with a head resembling a white lotus flower stands looking towards the door. Beside him is a can of red paint, with paint still dripping from it. The room is arranged in an orderly pattern of squares resembling a chessboard, while the world beyond the door is vast and free of such patterns. The chessboard brings to mind our tendency to calculate and plan our moves before proceeding. The lotus-like head suggests a mind that may look at things from different angles. The door is open—so what is the man still calculating before stepping out? It is worth noticing that the paint still dripping from the can is the same red as the door. This suggests that he has only just painted it. Could the green fields visible beyo...

సాల్వడార్ డాలీ — Dreams on a Beach ( అంతులేని అంచు) (for English version press here) విశాలమైన సముద్రతీరంలో ఒక విచిత్రమైన ఆకారం కనిపిస్తుంది.

5-D1-Dreams on a Beach

Image
Salvador Dalí — Dreams on a Beach ( The Edge of Uncertainty ) తెలుగులో చదవడానికి ఇక్కడ నొక్కండి A strange structure stands on a vast seashore. Rounded forms rest on a pedestal, concealing a veiled figure above them. A long red pole projects outward, with a small object dangling from its tip. The entire arrangement appears unstable, as though it is struggling to maintain its balance. The vast sea stretches into the distance, suggesting the openness of life itself. Life lies before us, but its course is not predetermined. The strange structure seems to represent someone who hesitates to step into life until there is some assurance of what lies ahead. The projecting pole brings to mind the act of probing with a stick when the way forward is unclear, searching for something to rely on. Yet the direction in which the pole extends does not seem to dispel the uncertainty. Perhaps we, too, approach life in much the same way. We accumulate knowledge, construct explanations for what we d...

  రెమెడియోస్ వారో — Eyes on the Table  (అంతర దృష్టి) (for English version press here) రెమెడియోస్ వారో చిత్రించిన Eyes on the Table లో , కళ్లజోడు అద్దాల వెనుక ఉండాల్సిన కళ్ళు వాటి వెలుపల కనిపిస్తాయి.

4-V1-Eyes on the Table

Image
Remedios Varo’s Eyes on the Table In Remedios Varo’s Eyes on the Table , the eyes lie outside the glass lenses of the spectacles, reversing the arrangement we normally expect. And where do we find them? On a table that floats, without any visible support. The familiar objects and their setting have been disturbed, making us question what we ordinarily take for granted. The arrangement seems to invite us to turn our gaze inward. But does merely turning our gaze inward change the way we see? If our familiar habits of thought accompany us, what have we really discovered? Annamacharya’s image, “ ఊరులేని పొలిమేర ,” offers an unexpected parallel. A boundary has meaning in relation to the village it bounds. Without the village, what does the boundary delimit? Where does it belong? The very basis of the boundary becomes questionable. The floating table adds another dimension to this inquiry. We take our relationship with the world for granted, much as we take...

T3-R3-La Clairvoyance (దివ్యదృష్టి)

Image
రెనే మాగ్రిట్ — La Clairvoyance ( దివ్యదృష్టి ) (For English version Press here) రెనే మాగ్రిట్ చిత్రించిన La Clairvoyance లో , చిత్రకారుడి చూపు ఒక గుడ్డుపై నిలిచి ఉంటుంది. -x-x-END-x-x-

3-R3-La Clairvoyance

Image
In La Clairvoyance (by Rene Magritte) , the painter’s eyes are fixed on an egg, but his canvas shows a bird with outstretched wings. The egg may seem to offer little beyond what is already visible, while the bird opens up an entirely different world of possibilities. The painter’s attention has moved beyond observing what exists to imagining what can emerge. We are often surrounded by familiar things that seem to offer nothing new to discover. When we feel we have already seen all there is to see, the familiar loses its power to excite the creative mind. Imagination then spreads its wings, carrying us beyond what is present to what might be possible. Yet, in this very act, we also move away from the present, inhabiting a world of our own making. -x-x-END-x-x-

T2-R2-Personal Values (వ్యక్తిగత లక్షణాలు)

Image
రెనే మాగ్రిట్ — Personal Values ( వ్యక్తిగత లక్షణాలు) (for English version press here) Personal Values చిత్రంలో ఒక గది కనిపిస్తుంది.

2-R2-Personal Values

Image
In Personal Values , by Rene Magritte, the room appears to be a private world organised around the man’s priorities. The oversized comb, shaving brush and soap suggest his concern for grooming and appearance, while the bed remains comparatively insignificant. Yet the room itself is strange: its walls seem transparent, opening onto a sky filled with clouds. Although there is no clear visual separation from the outside world, the glass-like walls still define the boundaries of the man’s private space. The mirror adds another mystery: it reflects the soap but also reveals curtains at a window, introducing an element that unsettles our understanding of the space. Magritte brings together personal priorities, uncertain boundaries and unseen presences. Even within the world we consider our own, how much lies beyond our awareness?                           ...

  రెనే మాగ్రిట్ — Collective Invention ( సామూహిక మిథ్యాభావన )  (for English version press here) రెనే మాగ్రిట్ చిత్రించిన Collective Invention మనకు పరిచయమైన మత్స్యకన్య రూపాన్ని తలకిందులు చేస్తుంది. -x-x-END-x-x-

1-R1-Collective Invention

Image
René Magritte’s Collective Invention turns our familiar image of a mermaid upside down. Instead of the usual combination of a woman’s upper body and a fish’s tail, the painting presents a fish’s head attached to a woman’s body. The title itself is an integral part of the painting. Why do we readily accept one combination as a mermaid, yet feel uncomfortable when we see the exact reverse? After all, the very idea of a mermaid is unnatural. Yet Magritte shows how prevailing social beliefs shape what we consider natural and what we find believable. As the Telugu poet Vemana observed, “పదుగురాడు మాట పాడియై చెల్లు” — what many people say comes to be accepted as truth. When an idea is repeated by enough people, its acceptance as ‘truth’ takes root deep within us. The painting invites us to question not only what we see, but also the assumptions on which we rely to make sense of what we see.       ...

A note on Surrealist Paintings

I would like to introduce you to a few surrealist paintings. Surrealist paintings explore dreams and the unconscious mind, taking us beyond the familiar world we know. They challenge the constraints of beauty, form, and morality—and, in particular, our tendency to pass over familiar things without examining them closely. They bring the viewer’s mind into direct engagement with the painting. By placing familiar objects in strange or impossible situations, they challenge our habitual ways of seeing. Their purpose is not merely to create imaginative scenes. They also question our habitual patterns of perception at their roots, bringing to light meanings that may not be immediately apparent. A surrealist painting does not tell us what to think; rather, it invites us to look again at things we believe we already understand. It attempts to free meaning from the confinement of form and beauty, bringing the artist and the viewer into direct contact through the painting. One more point des...
